Our Mission
The Coromandel Rescue Helicopter Trust (CRHT) was formed in 2012 with a view to establishing a hangar facility for the helicopter along with a house for the crew whilst based in Whitianga, and provide a general base for the Auckland Rescue Helicopter Trust (ARHT).
With the ARHT providing the majority of the rescue missions to the Coromandel Peninsula it was becoming obvious that a permanent base should be established so the helicopter would be ready and waiting for emergency calls right here in Whitianga, saving precious time and costs. In the summer time as the population in this area increases, so does the demand on rescue services increase 10 fold.
